Pampering your pet is becoming more and more popular with pet salons springing up all over the place. This might seem strange to some but as a dog owner I understand this completely. slide_4

Whether you own a cat or a dog, you consider them a part of your family. You want to make sure they’re comfortable and have what they need. I’m not the only one who feels this way. It’s estimated that there’s about 100 million small dogs in the U.S. alone with an estimated 500 million globally. That’s a lot of dogs.

That’s why pet couture is such a burgeoning market, especially for cats and small dogs. Owners love to buy their pets all kinds of clothing from coats to mitts. We’ve all seen the Chihuahua walking down the street rocking his designer sweater.

One company leading the way in high-end designer fashion and accessories for dogs and cats is Lavish Pets.slide_2

Launched last year, Lavish Pets is home to popular brands like Bella Poochy, which includes a line of fashionable pet clothing including fancy dresses and coats.

Another popular brand that’s part of the Lavish Pets family is Relax-N-Go, a convenient multi-functional pet carrier. Hey, we can’t expect your dog to walk everywhere. Let him take a break.

While those labels are popular, easily their most popular is Gloture. The word “Gloture” comes from “glow” and “couture” That’s right, it’s glow-in-the-dark clothing for dogs. Now despite what you might think, this isn’t some party favor or something to dress Max in for Halloween. Rather, it’s a great solution for nighttime walks. Not only can you keep an eye on your furry companion but others can seem them as well. They’re main product is the GloCoat, the first ever glow-in-the-dark dog coat.DSC02961_1024x1024

Lavish Pets founder and owner Elly Kaye explains the appeal, “The GloCoat is a reversible glow-in-the-dark warm dog coat that is not only fashionable, but highly functional by increasing safety at night with clothing and products that glow from within.”

The Gloture line doesn’t stop with the GloCoat. It also includes glow-in-the-dark dresses and a particularly cute glow-in-the-dark collar and cuffs with an accompanying bowtie.

Lavish Pets will be at the SuperZoo Pet Product Expo in Las Vegas August 2nd through the 4th showcasing the Gloture line with free samples and a live demonstration. So if you’re in town make sure to check them out!
