Sirius A – A Groundbreaking Hardware Project | NewsWatch Review

Tech Report

You know that NewsWatch travels all over the world to find the best and coolest tech. This month we headed to Berlin for IFA and scoured the convention until we found the latest tech to show our loyal fans. At IFA there’s a popular new product, Ockel’s Sirius A. After the success and popularity of Sirius B that launched here last year, Indiegogo partnered with Ockel to release the newest version of the Windows 10 device. We met up with Nathalie Van Wijkvliet the marketing director of Ockel Computers to see what she had to say about the Sirius A:

“Actually, the mission of the Sirius A is to reinvent the PC. What we see in the market is that the desktop and mobile world are growing toward each other and with this device; what we want to do is give users a real Windows 10 desktop experience, but with the benefits of a mobile device. So, we integrated a lot more connection options, we added a display port, the HDMI port is still there, we have USB-C, we have a LAN port which was a feature that was requested a lot, two USB 3.0 ports, and micro SD. And on top of that we integrated a 6 inch touch screen display and a portable battery so you can use it on the go as well.”

Ockel has signed an exclusive partnership agreement with Indiegogo to crowdfund this new concept. In order to fully bring it to life they need to raise $250,000. Which shouldn’t be a problem as they raised $450,000 for the Sirius B.

“Well, Microsoft is helping us with the project, we have direct access to their technical team. So, basically, with any question we have, on the software side, we are able to benefit from their knowledge.”
