Bird Song – Listen and Record to Identify a Birdsong | NewsWatch Review

AppWatch

Have you ever gone for a walk around your block and stopped to listen to the birds chirping? Well, you may have noticed that there are several different types of bird sounds and perhaps wondered  what kind of bird it was. Luckily, Mullen & Pohland Gbr created an app that can help you identify which bird is making which sound.

Bird Song ID USA is an original app that automatically identifies bird songs. Established by professional and published ecologists, Bird Song ID USA helps you discern birdsongs and calls just by simply listening and recording.

By recording a birdsong in acceptable hearing range, the higher the chances you’ll have the app tell you what species of bird you’re listening to.

With an audio reference library of nearly 250 songs and calls, you’ll be earnest to find a bird sound it doesn’t recognize. Though it may also be compared to a Shazam for birdsong, that’s not all it entails. Bird Song ID USA includes a reference guide of 118 species of birds as well as photos to view.

Turn a normal walk outside into an adventure when you use Bird Song ID USA to identify the birds you’ve been hearing all along.

And if you’re concerned about needing an internet connection in order to use it, no worries. When you download the app, it automatically downloads the library with the hundreds of photographs and song samples.

If you’re also inclined to record your own bird sounds and keep a bird song diary, you can do that too.
