AppWatch Review
Now if you have kids that are aged 2 to 6, or if you’re a teacher, I’ve got you covered for reading time with Fergus Ferry. It’s a popular Australian book series for kids that follows Fergus, a ferry boat, and his friends as they have fun adventures. Since the launch of the app in December it’s had over 20,000 downloads and been rated five stars by the Educational App Store and has a 4 point 5 star rating on Amazon.
Throughout the series there are subtle messages for both parents and kids about friendship, sharing, trust, and much more. They’ve got great illustrations and the stories are written in rhyme – so they’re perfect to read aloud. But what I love, surprise surprise, is they’ve come out with an app that’s free until February 28th for iOS devices and 99 cents for Android devices that has all 24 books included as both ebooks and audio read alongs. Plus there’s a great game for kids to play where they steer Fergus around rescuing sailors, avoiding ships and scaring away sharks. There’s hours of great reading here for both parents and kids with sections specific to parents and teachers.
So if you want to learn more about the app, you can head to the app store or to FergusFerry.com.
