AppWatch Review
Have you ever taken a trip and wondered what local legends exist near your location? Well, a new mapping app called Roundabout helps you find points of interests based on user-submitted stories and experiences. It is the first application we have come across that allows people to share the stories they enjoy telling by pinning them on a map based on where the story happened.
The map is powered by Google Maps so it allows you to discover and share those stories, both old and new, on an interface you’re familiar with. The learning curve is short, which is nice. The stories are broken down into some pretty unique categories that don’t exist on Google like local history, attractions, folklore, and landmarks to name a few. Again, because it’s Google Maps, no matter where you are Roundabout can help you find stories from categories of interest near your location. It makes it easy to share your stories because the history of any place is only as good as the collection of stories that created it.
If you want to discover new places and hear stories you otherwise wouldn’t have known about, be sure to check out this free app. Just head to the iTunes store and search roundaboutapp or visit roundaboutapp.com.
