iPhone SE

The iPhone SE was announced only a week ago and pre-orders were taken right away. Now, customers are starting to see the iPhone SE show up at their doors.

The newest iPhone SE is Apple’s cheapest phone yet. If the SE moniker doesn’t seem familiar to you, that’s because Apple discontinued the budget phone back in 2018. That last iteration was a 4-inch model with limited internal capabilities.

This month’s SE revival is a big step-up, coming in at 4.7 inches and containing a souped-up interior. The bigger and much clearer retina HD display is better than any affordable options Apple has released before. It might not be as big as the standard iPhone 11, but it’ll do the trick and for hundreds of dollars less.

The 12 MP Wide camera and ability to record videos in 4K in 24, 30 or 60 fps also makes it the best iPhone camera to be offered at an affordable price point. The 7MP front-facing camera is good enough for high-res selfies and you’ll even get a boost from Portrait mode and Portrait Lighting effects.

The SE sticks with the home button even though that little guy is teetering on the brink of extinction. This is a smart move to keep the cost down as you can do away with all of the internal tech that supports Face ID, etc.

In terms of internal guts, the phone includes an A13 Bionic chip (just like the iPhone 11 Pro), 3GB of RAM and a choice between 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage.

You can purchase the iPhone SE for as low as $399 or $299 with a trade-in. Like any iPhone purchase, you have the option of paying for it through a monthly payment plan. There’s even a deal where you can get the cheap phone for as little as $184.

In order to take advantage of that crazy deal, you’ll need to purchase the SE from Visible.com and sign up for their plan. You simply buy the phone from them for $384 and they’ll apparently send you a $200 credit via a Prepaid Mastercard Virtual Account. It’s basically an online debit card.

Finances are a precarious thing these days so it’s nice to know there’s a robust iPhone option available at a much more affordable price.
