Yatzy is one of the most played games in the world.  Now, if you don’t know, the object of the game is to score as many points as possible by rolling 5 or 6 dice to make certain combinations.  The most common way to play is with a piece of paper and five dice, but you can also download a Yatzy app to play on the go. We recommend the Yatzy Ultimate App – it’s one of the most popular games on the store, with over 4 million individual downloads.

There’re free and paid versions, which we love and they’re available for iOS and Windows phone devices, as well as on Facebook.  The game has 5 levels of difficulty– you can start as a newbie on Noob Alley and advance all the way to Hot Highway. You can also train, bet and take risks, play with friends or people nearby using Bluetooth, so if you and a friend are stuck on a bus together, pull out the game and start playing.

The game also comes in three different configurations, American version, Maxi Yatzy which uses six dice, and Yatzy the Scandinavian version which has five dice.  How you play is up to you.
