From the very first X-Men film, we fell in love with all of the characters. From Professor Charles Xavier played by Patrick Stewart to the incredible Hugh Jackman playing the role of Wolverine. As more and more films came out, the story lines grew and so did the cast and range of characters. Now director Bryan Singer is back with X-Men: Apocalypse.
Bryan Singer, James McAvoy, Sophie Turner, Michael Fassbender joined NewsWatch to give us a little more insight into X-Men: Apocalypse.
Bryan Singer, Director- “I want them to always be different from each other. And I felt that where X-Men days of future past dealt with time travel, robots, and things like that. This film deals with ancient mutant-ism. To him it is one giant, corrupt, civilization. The whole planet. Worshiping false idols. Thinking it has super powers with its nuclear weapons. He believes this is not his world. And he wants to take it back.”
James McAvoy (Charles Xavier) – “I really love playing Charles. The main reason I love playing Charles is because he has empathy. And he has this huge capacity to care for others. And for love, really. And what’s fun is when you challenge that. So by the end of this movie that is definitely challenged. “
Sophie Turner (Jean Grey) – “I am playing Jean Grey. It was one of the best roles I’ve ever had. I wanted this role so much. I thought the character was such an icon in the X-Men franchise and it was the biggest honor to be able to step into this.”
Michael Fassbender (Magneto)- “What we’ve got here in X-Men: Apocalypse is the arrival of the original mutants. In some respects, the sort of father to all mutants. And he’s decided to take judgement on the world. And he doesn’t like the way the world has, in his mind, degenerated. And he wants to start fresh.”
With the rise of the very first mutant apocalypse, the X-Men have to stand together once again to protect the planet from extinction. And a little hint, if you watch the trailer, you might catch an easter egg in there. We wonder what it is.
