On-Demand Snow Shoveling Service with the Shovler App

By: Nick Gambino

Depending on where you live you’re either just seeing the first signs of snowfall or have already been buried 3 feet under more than once this season.

No matter your situation, if you’re living in any location that guarantees snow then you’ll most likely find yourself out breaking your back trying to clear a path. Shovler might be able to help you out.

The Shovler app works much the way Uber does but instead of a car showing up, a worker with shovel in hand appears at your door ready to get to work.

The concept is simple: snow shovelers are made up of neighborhood folks looking to make some extra cash. This isn’t anything new, there are always those neighbors or neighbors’ kids looking to shovel local driveways but with the app it connects them up and makes it incredibly simple.

Much like Uber everything is handled through the app, including payment so you don’t have to worry about the awkward in-person exchange of money.

You can use the service to get someone more willing and able to shovel your driveway, the street, outside your business, clear a path to your car or even just clear all the snow off your vehicle so you can drive.

Shovler CEO, Daniel Miller explains the simplicity of the app, “For instance, say you left your car parked on the street, and need it by 9am. You log on a couple hours before you need to leave and put in, ‘I’m parked on 72nd and Broadway,’ with the license plate number, make and color. Then someone can accept the job, show up, take care of it, then send you pictures of the completed job.”

Currently they have over 1,000 shovelers signed up on the app spread all through the country. Prices vary, again much like Uber, depending on the amount of snow that needs to be cleared. Though typical prices range anywhere from $20 up to $75 for larger properties and heavy snow days.

Shovler is available for Android and iOS devices.
