Strong Rumors Suggest What to Expect from New iPhone

 By: Nick Gambino

If you were to scour through every current rumor about the upcoming new iPhone, you’d be scouring for longer than it would take for the new phone to be released. Thankfully, you can ignore most of these unfounded rumors. There are some, however, that are worth paying attention to.

Trusted analyst TrendForce leaked some details on the new Apple flagship phone in a recent press release. “The company plans to introduce three new iPhone models later this year,” the report reads. “All three models would continue to feature Face ID, and two of them would be premium versions with an AMOLED screen.”

The phones expected are the iPhone 9, the iPhone X Plus and the second-generation iPhone X. TrendForce also indicates that the Apple Pencil would work with the 2 new X phones. You might remember Steve Jobs was vehemently against using a stylus on a phone when you have the greatest stylus you’ll ever need attached to your hand (your finger).

Storage is predicted to increase which is always a big plus. They should top out at a massive 512GB but would still be available in 64GB and 256GB. Again, this would only be for the higher end X phones. The 9 will act as the successor to the 8 and so will have more basic functionality, at least as compared to the X.

Another promising feature is significantly boosted RAM. Keeping with the theme, the 9 is still going to be the red-headed stepchild here with a 3GB RAM. That’s the same as the current X and the 8 Plus. Of course, 3GB is not terrible but still not as good as the premium phones. The second-generation X and the X Plus will see 4GB of RAM which should allow them to handle a lot of tasks at once without tripping on their faces.

Now, as I said earlier, these are rumors and predictions, but seeing as though TrendForce has shoveled out reliable analysis of where Apple is going in the past, there’s a good chance this is a somewhat accurate look at future iPhones.

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. The new iPhones are always released in the fall so we’re not too far off from the big reveal.
