On Thursday, Reddit added a Discover tab to their iOS and Android app. This new tab is exactly what it sounds like. It offers another way to find new content and threads that might interest you.

The Discover tab is essentially a curated tab that should align with your interests based on your Reddit activity. When you tap on it, you’ll see a bunch of pictures, videos, and GIFs that you can scroll through.

“Redditors told us they want an easier way to explore current and new interests, so today, we are rolling out our first new surface in nearly two years – the Discover Tab,” the company said in a blog post. “This new navigational tool provides Redditors with an engaging way to more easily find content and communities across Reddit.”

You’ll find the new Discover tab second from the left on the bottom of the app – the little compass symbol. This is where your Communities tab used to be, so don’t go looking for that one as it went bye-bye. The idea is that discovering content that you enjoy will lead you to find and join new communities.

“During initial testing, we saw one in five people join at least one new community after using the Discover Tab,” the blog post reads.

That begs the question though – how do you quickly navigate to your list of subscribed communities? They’ve moved that and your favorites to the slider-over Community Drawer. If you swipe from the far left of your screen to the right, you’ll see them there. You can also tap the top left to access the Community Drawer.

They’ve also added a new Profile Drawer if you swipe from the far right of your screen to the left. This is where you’ll go to customize your profile. You can also access the Profile Drawer by tapping on your profile icon in the top right.

If you don’t see the Discover tab, update your app. If you still don’t see it, be patient as it’s rolling out to all iOS and Android users. I don’t see it in my app even after updating, so I’m waiting to see it in action.
