In texas holdem, each player is dealt two cards face down. These are called your “hole cards”. Then, five community cards are dealt face up in the middle of the table. These are shared by all players and are used to make your hand. To make your hand, you can use any combination of your hole cards and the community cards. The aim of the game is to make the best possible hand using these seven cards.

The first thing you need to do when learning how to play texas holdem is to understand how hands are ranked. The highest-ranking hand is a royal flush, which is a straight flush consisting of ace, king, queen, jack, and ten. The next highest-ranking hand is a straight flush, which is any five cards of the same suit in sequential order. After that, four of a kind, full house, flush, straight, three of a kind, two pair, and one pair are ranked in that order. Finally, if no player has any of the above hands, the highest card in their hand is used to determine the winner.

Now that you know how hands are ranked, let’s move on to how to play texas holdem. The first thing you need to do is learn the betting rules. In ptexas holdem oker, there are four rounds of betting: . Preflop is when all players are dealt their hole cards. Flop is when the first three community cards are dealt. Turn is when the fourth community card is dealt. River is when the fifth and final community card is dealt.

In each betting round, players have the option to fold, call, or raise. Folding means, you give up your hand and you’re out of the game. Calling means you match the current bet amount. Raising means you increase the current bet amount.

The betting starts with the player to the left of the dealer button (the button is shown in the graphic below with the white D). In each betting round, if there’s only one player remaining in the hand, that player wins and takes all the chips in the pot. If there are two or more players remaining after all bets have been made, then the players go to a “showdown” where they reveal their hands. The player with the highest-ranking hand wins and takes all the chips in the pot.
