A young Buddhist nun made a decision to put her compassion into action after seeing extreme suffering caused by poverty and disease in rural Taiwan. Dharma Master Cheng Yen established the Buddhist Tzu Chi foundation in 1966. Tzu currently denotes compassion, whereas Chi represents relief. This volunteer-based nonprofit organization has sent humanitarian relief to countries worldwide, according to its name. Tzu Chi USA was founded in 1989. Tzu Chi USA works to make the world a better place for everybody, whether in the aftermath of natural catastrophes or by providing charitable assistance.
Tzu Chi will perform its annual virtual charity concert t on November 29th, coinciding with Giving Tuesday, a global campaign promoting donations to charitable organizations on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Tzu Chi invites you to participate in the Giving Tuesday virtual concert to learn about its work and to support its humanitarian missions. The concert may be viewed for free at tzuchi.us/givingtuesday. You may also give there and help make a difference.
