Ever – A New Way To Share and Store Photos

By: Nick Gambino

With the number of photos we take on a daily basis it’s a wonder they haven’t created smartphones with 1TB storage. Between selfies, food served to us at a nice restaurant and our nature photos we run out of storage pretty quick. And if you have a baby or new dog, forget about it.

Cloud storage is the solution but services such as iCloud, Dropbox and Google Drive are limited or too expensive. We went on a hunt to find something that could stand up against the established big dogs. That hunt led us to the Ever app.

The Ever app offers a secure location to back up all of your photos and videos, leaving you plenty of room on your phone for other more important things like the thousand apps you’re going to download and never open again.

Ever photo share

Once the photos are uploaded you can share them with whoever you deem worthy and set it up so any future photos or videos you capture automatically backup to Ever.

Unlike other cloud services like iCloud, the free version of this app actually allows you unlimited photo backup in 1080p. Seriously. Upload those 10,000 photos of your cat sitting on the windowsill, basking in the sun. You know, the ones that look identical one to the other but who cares because it’s your phone and if you want to take the same photo 10,000 times then you’re going to.

But I digress. The point is it’s free. They don’t get you with “5GB of free storage and then a literal arm and a leg for every 100GB after that.” It offers 100% encryption with passcode and Touch ID protection for privacy purposes as well.

Now there is an Ever Plus subscription that’s actually worth paying for once you hear what it is. The Plus subscription, which costs $9.99 a month, allows for unlimited full-resolution photo AND video backup, Ever for your desktop computer, discounts on printed products as well as the aforementioned encryption.

The Plus adds in one other sweet deal when you purchase an annual subscription. You’ll receive one free Ever Book. For those truly special memories captured in a photo, you’ll want them printed and bound in an aesthetic layout. There are still those moments when you want to physically finger through a photo album and the Ever Book is the answer.

Ever is an iOS app that can be used on your iPhone or iPad. You can download it for free in the App Store or head to ever.com.
