Ergonomic workstations and ergonomic-friendly workplaces are gaining in popularity and for good reason. Repetitive strain injuries and other such ailments are a real deterrent to production and morale.
Moovency recognizes that and developed, after 5 years of Research and Development, a solution for assessing movement and posture in an industrial workplace. This was made possible with the support of Ouest Valorisation SATT and Rennes 2 University.
By using a motion capture camera the solution sees things the human eye might miss. Moovency is able to extract in real time objective data on the human body. Their algorithm goes to work generating an actionable assessment to improve the ergonomics of the workstation.
The use of a single camera without unwieldy sensors attached to the body makes this a very user-friendly way to assess the need for important changes in the way people work.
Ultimately, the goal is to help people work longer and without pain. And from an employer’s perspective, they’ll be encouraging better work from employees who can operate pain-free.
