Who is Dan Bilzerian?

Famed poker player Dan Bilzerian is one of those names everyone knows in poker. The poker player doesn’t have much by way of winning titles and isn’t polishing a collection of World Series of Poker bracelets at home, but he has competed and continues to compete in some of the highest-stakes games in Vegas and around the world, which has earned him a place as one of the GGTeam on GGPoker.

He has beautifully used his winnings and minor fame in poker to appear on the Joe Rogan podcast, grab minor parts and cameos in big budget movies like War Dogs and Olympus Has Fallen, and fund a range of businesses.

Bilzerian is a guy who notoriously has his sticky fingers in a lot of pies. On top of his lucrative career as a professional poker player, he has his podcast and influencer career, and trying to keep up with all those ice baths and workouts must take up some time, plus a few other endeavours. But in the meantime, he has put his name to the GGPoker Battle Royale tournament.

What is the Battle Royale?

The Dan Bilzerian Battle Royal is poker on steroids. It is a multi-level tournament that is packed with action and combines the last man standing element of battle royale video games and applies it to poker. It is a No-Limit Hold’em Progressiv Bounty Sit and Go poker game that is guaranteed to raise pulses.

There are three levels to survive: The Rush Zone, The Shootout Zone and The Final Table.

In The Rush Zone, after every hand the players move to a new table with a new set of hole cards. Once 50 players are left in the game or the set 15 minutes are up, the top 50 players based on chips, kills and number of hands played.

At The Shootout Zone, the 50 players compete at 10 five-handed tables until there is a winner at each table. These winners then progress onto The Final Table, where they compete for the number one spot and gain their prize.

“The action’s been thrilling and intense in equal measures since Dan Bilzerian’s Battle Royale launched,” said Paul Burke, Head of PR at GGPoker. “The percentage of players coming back to take their shot in multiple games has remained at a consistently high level since Day 1, and the feedback we’re getting is overwhelmingly positive.”

What are these records?

The event lasted only a fortnight, and yet, in that time records were broken.

There were a total of 2,821 games run, with the first place prizes averaging out to 25.5 times the buy-in! The top 1st place prize was won by Excalibur11 who went home with $317.33 for a $10 buy-in.

The reception to the new format was amazing, with players all around the globe trying to get in to play.

No doubt with numbers like that, the Dan Bilzerian Battle Royale poker game will be welcomed back.
