While most of us use the mobile version of the Spotify app, there is a desktop version that comes in handy. The thing is, the desktop app has been a bit clunky and different enough from the mobile version that there hasn’t been a seamless transition between the two.

The audio streaming giant recognized this issue and has addressed it in a newly designed Spotify desktop app as well as the web browser experience. When you launch the app on either your Mac or PC you’ll see the difference right away.

You’ll notice the biggest change is the new Now Playing and Your Library interfaces. The right side of the screen houses Now Playing and offers a ton of information beyond the usual artist and song or podcast title.

“You can even find more information about the song and artist here, as well as information on tour dates and merch – making it easier to connect with your favorite artists and discover more about them,” Spotify says in an announcement blog.

The Your Library pane is now on the left side, making it easy for users to quickly access any saved playlists or podcasts. In testing this new feature, they found users were happy to have a quick way to navigate to their own stuff, instead of having to dig for it. Again, this is an example of bringing the mobile experience to the desktop app.

If you don’t see the updated Spotify desktop app yet, you should see it soon. It began rolling out wide on Tuesday and will be available to every user with a computer.

In other Spotify news, the platform is looking to add another subscription plan in the near future according to Bloomberg News. The super premium tier would reportedly include hi-fi audio. They are calling it “Supremium” in the halls of Spotify HQ. When or if it does launch it’ll be their most expensive plan and will begin its rollout in non-US countries.

We’ll be keeping tabs on this potential new plan and report on it when we find out more.
