As we ease out of summer and into the fall, iPhone season has officially begun. This year’s iPhone 15 promises to be a good one, though let’s be honest, we know little about it. That should change at the upcoming announcement event that has yet to be officially set.
That of course doesn’t stop us from speculating on the date of the Apple event. They usually occur as an in-person event in September as long as we’re not in the midst of a pandemic. Seeing as though we are far removed from those dark times, we expect the event to fall on a typical date and Bloomberg has a prediction.
“When is the iPhone 15 launching?” Mark Gurman of Bloomberg asks in a tweet. “Around Sept. 22 – following an event planned for either Sept. 12 or 13.”
In a follow-up tweet, Gurman says signs indicate Sept. 12 as the most likely date. The date is probably not yet locked in on Apple’s side, otherwise they’d announce it. So it could change.
Signs are increasingly pointing to Sept. 12 as the iPhone 15 event date, but obviously things can still theoretically change. https://t.co/hVKgjJGMc1

In addition to the date prediction, the event format is said to be an in-person affair with people joining the tech company at Apple Park in Cupertino, California. As with all “normal” iPhone announcement events there will also be some previously recorded video content, but all the big Apple principles will be live and on stage.
There has been a lot of speculation as to what we’ll see with the iPhone 15, the biggest thing being the inclusion of a USB Type-C port. The Dynamic Island may also be featured in all 15 models as opposed to just the Pro iterations.
Obviously we’ll see the newest processor chip and some juiced-up power, but what’s most exciting is the prospect of a 2TB storage capacity in the upper-end iPhone 15.
Whenever the iPhone 15 event is and whatever the new phone has in store, we’ll know soon enough. Expect an announcement of upcoming festivities in the next week or so.
