Vacationing in the US is so much fun, once you’ve planned out what you’re going to do. There’s also a lot of the US to explore, which means you’ll want to focus on perhaps just one or two locations at a time, especially if you only have so much time on your hands for the vacation.
With that being said, here are five travel tips for vacationing in the US.
1. Make sure you’ve booked in enough time to see everything
First and foremost, make sure you’ve booked in enough time to see everything that you’d like to see. When choosing the amount of time for a vacation, will depend on how much time you have to spare. For some, the holiday they’re allowed might be unlimited but for others, five or seven days might be the limit they’re allowed.
With that being said, being mindful of making sure you’ve booked off the right amount of days needed to maximize your time away is essential. If there are certain locations in the US that might need more time, for example, a trip to Walt Disney World, then you might want to hold out until you can book more time in a singular period.
2. Create an itinerary but don’t over plan the days
Creating an itinerary is a great way to navigate your vacation in the best way possible. After all, you don’t want to miss out on anything that you might want to do but you do create some structure to the day that should also be somewhat loose.
When creating an itinerary, be sure to leave a bit of space in between activities so that you’ve got some time to be spontaneous. It’s this that will make your vacation extra enjoyable.
3. Look at different forms of travel in the country
There are various forms of travel in the country to take advantage of. Whether that’s boating to jumping on a train or a helicopter. Depending on what city or state you go to, it’s worth checking out what options are out there.
For example, Getmyboat ranked the top 100 boating cities in the US if you fancy taking a boat out for the day or afternoon.
4. Have plenty of tip money to hand
Tip money is useful to have as many places in the US that serve food and drink, will expect some form of tip every time you pay. It’s not always necessary but it’s a courtesy that still exists and is still somewhat frowned upon if you don’t tip the waiters, waitresses, or establishments in general.
You don’t need to give a substantial amount if you don’t want to, especially as many will give you the option of giving your own value tip.
5. Be sure to do all the touristy hotspots
It’s a good idea for all of the touristy hotspots, even if that’s not why you’ve picked out the particular place to vacation. However, you might not get the opportunity to return, so it’s worth doing it all while you can.
These tips will help ensure you have a fantastic vacation in the US.
