Beats are best known for their headphones. In fact their audio tech and brand recognition was a big reason Apple acquired the company from legendary producer Dr. Dre and his long-time partner Jimmy Iovine for a staggering $3 billion.
Now the Apple subsidiary is branching out to include a ton of accessories that support Apple products. A few months back they released Beats iPhone cases and just this week they announced an all-new accessory – Beats Cables.
This is their first foray into charging cables for all manner of devices. Beats Cables are available in a number of configurations and color options. These include:
- USB-C to USB-C
- USB-A to USB-C
- USB-C to Lightning
That’s what they’re starting with, but I’m sure they plan to expand their offerings, especially if they prove popular. These Beats Cables are available in an array of colors, though Rapid Red won’t be available for the USB-A to USB-C and USB-C to Lightning until summer 2025. Here are the color options:
- Bolt Black
- Surge Stone
- Nitro Navy
- Rapid Red
You’ll be able to buy any of these cables in any color for $18.99 or buy a two-pack for $34.99. As long as they are durable and have a decent lifespan, that’s not terribly expensive for a charger that will work on phones, tablets, headphones, laptops, etc. Though, they apparently work best with iPhones, iPads and Androids.
Apple says they have an anti-fray design which should at least protect it to some degree. Though once you get a little internal issue, that might be all she wrote.
Now, I’ve been calling them charging cables, but Beats Cables also allow transferring of data up to USB 2.0 speeds.
“Compatible with all USB-C Apple and Android devices, this braided cable is built for charging, syncing, audio, CarPlay, and transferring data,” the website reads.
Beats Cables are available for purchase now.
