American football player in professional sport arena.

Despite what raging fans of any team that’s not the New England Patriots say, Tom Brady is one of the greatest NFL players of all time. Minimally, he’s in the conversation for GOAT QB, for sure. So, the news that he’s about to become a free agent means we all get to be obsessed with what’s going to happen next.

For the layman out there, “free agent” means he won’t be under contract and so will have the option to move to another team. While most NFL players move from team to team throughout their careers, Brady is one of those rare players who has stuck with the team that drafted him for the past 20 seasons.

Now, just because he has the option of going to a different team (and trust me, that option exists as every team would kill to have him), doesn’t mean he’s going to be going anywhere. Brady has been loyal to the Patriots as well as Head Coach, Bill Belichick and owner Robert Kraft, so why would he change his tune now?

Partly, I would suspect, it’s because he wants to feel the love outside of his organization. Partly, because he has the option so why not at least see what exists over there even if he doesn’t intend to seriously entertain any of it.

But more importantly, because he’s no idiot, Brady is probably letting this work up to a nice rolling boil so that he can get the best deal out of the Patriots. They’re going to want to keep their golden goose happy – the golden goose that has won them 6 Super Bowls and made them the strongest, and arguably the greatest, team in NFL history.

One thing’s for sure, when “Big Papi” Ortiz tells you to “Pay the man!” you should probably listen.

Whatever happens, us fans will be watching, waiting, taking bets and doing what we always do – trying to make ourselves feel like we are somehow involved. With the recent legalization of online sports betting in various states, we have even more opportunities.

If you’re one of those online sports bettors who plays for love of the game, then you’re going to want to make sure you take advantage of this bonus code and other deals that give you a nice head start. Having a sports bonus code comes in handy if you want to both save and make money.

We’ve probably got a good month left before we see how things shake out with Brady and the Patriots, so get your bets in now.
