NCWIT is Increasing Meaningful Participation of Women in Every Community

Consumer Update

Lack of diversity is an issue that stretches across disciplines and industries. Only by organizing and uniting our voices for change can we hope for systemic reform that fosters inclusivity for all.

NCWIT is a non-profit community of thousands of change leader organizations with the goal of increasing the influential and meaningful participation of girls and women from every community in the field of computing.

Computing permeates every aspect of our society. Yet, technological innovations are not developed by a population as diverse as its users.

Women hold the majority of all professional occupations, yet only a fraction of computing occupations. And, the gap is even wider when considering women of color.

As a society, we lose out on potential innovations when we do not have a diverse workforce fully participating in technology creation.

Because the idea you don’t have is the voice you haven’t heard. Inclusion changes what’s possible.

Gender reform in the technology industry is not a “women’s issue,” it is a business issue that’s also about men. Everyone has a role to play, and NCWIT is there to help you master the skills to lead change and reveal the potential in everyone.
