New decade, who dis? There’s nothing like a frenetic tech show to usher in the new year and the start of the roaring 20s. CES 2020 is just around the corner and, just like in years past, we’ll be treated to a plethora of new tech meant to push us forward into hitherto unknown realms.
NewsWatch will be on the ground in Las Vegas from Jan 7-10, hob knobbing with all the geeks and geniuses and getting our hands on the best CES has to offer. In the meantime, we figured we’d tell you what we already know and the most anticipated gadgets we’ll get to see at the world’s biggest electronics show.
Teslasuit VR Gloves
Teslasuit has already made a name for themselves with their haptic feedback bodysuit for the world of VR, and now they’re bringing their VR gloves to Vegas. These bad boys allow users to feel objects when they touch and hold them in virtual reality while also tracking their pulse. This last feature is included as the glove is meant for physical rehab and other professional applications.
LG Rolling TV
We’ve reported on LG’s fascination with rolling TV screens in earlier years and 2020 is shaping up to be more of the same from the popular TV company. This year’s offering includes an OLED screen that rolls right out of the ceiling, not unlike a projector screen. We don’t have a lot of specifics yet but will let you know more soon. And as always, LG will have a large presence at CES with tons of other killer TVs on display.
Norm Glasses
Google Glass and other similar products have tried to turn glasses into a tech hub and have effectively failed. Norm Glasses seem to be avoiding the mistake with stylish frames that contain everything you’d think you’d need in computer-like glasses. Described as “a fully functioning micro-computer and display in normal, stylish glasses,” they include a heads-up display that allows you to access a number of features including text messaging, phone calls and music.
Pizza-Making Robot
Whenever there’s news of a robot that makes the greatest circular delicacy ever created, we have to talk about it. Picnic has a robot that’s capable of making an unbelievable amount of pizza in an hour – 300 to be exact. We can’t wait to see this food wizard in action and hopefully perform a taste test – you know, just to make sure we’re being the best reporters we can be.
Waydoo Flyer
What would this list be without…surfing? Yeah, we’re surprised at how excited we are to see this flying surfboard in action too. The Waydoo Flyer is an electric hydrofoil surfboard that lifts the rider off the water and allows them to glide a couple feet off the surface while propelling them forward. It’s unlikely we’ll see it fully in action unless they can figure out how to import the ocean, but we’re hoping they figure out some set-up that allows for a solid demo.
