At Nintendo Direct this week, the video game company made a ton of announcements, but none were more exciting than the slew of classic Nintendo 64 titles coming to the Switch.

If I were to tell you to pick one N64 game that you would love to play on your Switch, what would it be? If you said Goldeneye 007, then you’ve picked the right answer. Well, if you were a kid in the 90s, there really is no other worthy answer.

At the Direct showcase, they announced Goldeneye and a ton of other titles, nine in all, would be available to play on Switch Online. Here’s a list of the N64 games coming your way:

  • Goldeneye 007
  • Pilotwings 64
  • Mario Party 1
  • Mario Party 2
  • Mario Party 3
  • Pokémon Stadium 1
  • Pokémon Stadium 2
  • 1080 Snowboarding
  • Excitebike 64

But seriously, are any of these more exciting than getting to play as cube-headed James Bond, armed with a PP7 and proximity mines? And remember all the cheats that would allow you to play with a huge head or use a paint brush to strike down bad guys?

The best part of Goldeneye was always playing multiplayer with your friends. Now, the original N64 game was released in 1997, years before online multiplayer. Lucky for you, the new Switch version will allow you to play online so you can best that 12-year-old kid 6,000 miles away who’s too young to have mastered this game with sun-up-to-sun-down gaming sessions.

The new version of the game stays true to the original in so many ways, but I’m assuming it’s also getting a much-needed facelift, minimally with improved framerate. I can’t confirm this though.

We’ve also learned that Goldeneye is coming to Xbox, but it’s going to be a different version of the game. Sure, it’ll still have 4K visuals and a smoother framerate, but it won’t have an online multiplayer mode, which is a real bummer. I’m not sure if there will be a local multiplayer mode so you can bask in the nostalgia of the 90s with split-screen gameplay. I’m not hating that idea.

We don’t have a release date yet, but we’ll stay on top of it as a priority because hey, it’s Goldeneye.
